At the age of 16, a young boy stopped his schooling and decided to collect scrap. A self-made man, he dreamed big and wanted to make his dreams a reality. That young man was Shri. Vijayan, the founder of VGC Beena.
In 1982, with his hard-earned money, Mr. Vijayan established the first ever store of VGC Beena in Medamukku, Kayamkulam. And soon enough, in 1998, he started a wholesale store as well. Mr. Prakash took charge of the hardware store when Mr. Vijayan decided to pursue the hilly terrains as a potential business site for their store. The golden years of VGC Beena were from 1994-1998. These were the years the rungs of the business were quickly climbed. These years also saw the opening of a new tile showroom, the first of its kind in South India.

In 2000 and 2003, two more departments were introduced in the wholesale sector- electrical and roofing sheets. In 2006, a new branch of the roofing solutions showroom was opened in Alakkulam. This year also saw an annual turnover of 20 crores, for the first time in the Company's history. From there on, there was no looking back.
The beginning of 2012 was with the introduction of a roofing profiling unit. The coming years saw agricultural equipment being added to the mantle of the company, annual turnover crossing 100 crores, and of course, the opening of a new showroom in Malappuram in 2015. In 2017, a new showroom opened in Kottayam. The same year also saw VGC Beena launching Agripal for agricultural equipment! In 2018, Punaloor saw the opening of a new showroom.
